Zen Word for Better Communication #17 七走一坐 Shichisoh-Ichiza

Try sitting down once you’ve run seven times.

Even if you’re putting all your energy into something, sometimes you have to pause and look at yourself.

By looking at yourself, you can correct your course and start running again.  This repetition will help you grow and develop yourself to your fullest potential.

Are you running at full speed every day without any rest?  Just stop once and check if you are not losing track of where you are going.

Don’t be afraid to pause, even in the midst of your busyness, in order to move in the right direction.

The reason why it is difficult to get result even though you concentrate on your work and work hard every day is that your routine has become the norm and your ability to think has stagnated.  This is not the way to grow.  If you can stop for a moment to review and reconfirm your actions, you can refresh and begin to meet new paths again.  – K.Kato
